ITALIAN SOCIETY OF CLINICAL BIOCHEMISTRY
AND CLINICAL MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
The Italian Society of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology (SIBioC) was founded in 1968 with the following mission:
- Bring together scientists throughout the fields of clinical biochemistry and clinical molecular biology
- Enhance its members’ scientific knowledge and professional expertise
- Promote scientific and technical publications in the fields
- Cooperate with other scientific societies world-wide
- Organise local, national, and international meetings and seminars
SIBioC has been officially recognised since 1982.

Editorial Activity
Biochimica Clinica is SIBioC’s official journal (current editor: Prof. Mauro Panteghini). SIBioC has also chosen, as its official international journal, Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM)

- SIBioC has promoted the registration of European clinical chemists since 1999

- Prizes for best posters awarded to authors under 40 years of age at SIBioC national congress
- Part of SIBioC income set aside for young scientists’ internships at qualified laboratories in Italy and overseas
- Free admission to scientific and professional sessions for young university graduates during the SIBioC national congress

Who can join SIBioC?
Full membership is open to anyone with a university degree in medicine and surgery, chemistry, industrial chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry and technology, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and biological science, as well as to those with professional, scientific or cultural relations to the field of clinical biochemistry.
Technicians and any others active in the field of the clinical biochemistry are welcomed as qualified associate members.
